The Challenge: When structural barriers stand in the way of essential care, our community suffers. The original narrow wooden stairs at the Christian Family Baptist Church (CFBC) Impact Center posed a significant safety hazard, entirely blocking elderly, disabled, and veteran clients using motorized scooters from entering the building safely. Led by 20-year Air Force veteran Pastor Rob Johnson, this vital community anchor serves hundreds of local families monthly. An inaccessible entrance meant that vulnerable individuals in immediate need of critical food assistance were stripped of their independence and safety at the front door.
The Execution: HeroMount Solutions launched this deployment alongside our preferred vendor, SA Construct, to execute a total structural remediation. Our volunteer and trade teams coordinated the full demolition and removal of the unsafe wooden steps, completely rebuilding the entrance from the ground up. The team engineered and constructed a robust, fully code-compliant ADA ramp paired with a secure 5′ X 5′ landing platform matched to the entryway awning, restoring immediate, unimpeded access for all clients.

In the commercial sector, a full demolition, ADA-compliant ramp build, and custom landing platform layout typically commands between $8,500 and $12,000 in specialized labor and management fees. By providing these services entirely pro bono, our operation wiped out this heavy financial burden, ensuring that every dollar raised directly protected the monthly distribution of over 20,000 lbs of healthy food to 400–500 local families.
